Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 23, 2026
Privacy is our core principle
Every tool on ddevtools runs 100% in your browser. Your data never touches our servers—not for processing, not for storage, not even for a millisecond. We built it this way because privacy shouldn't be optional.
Overview
ddevtools ("we", "our", or "us") exists because we believe developer tools shouldn't require you to sacrifice your privacy. Every tool we build runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript—no server-side processing, no data transmission, no exceptions.
This Privacy Policy explains what minimal data we do collect (analytics and optional advertising) and how we safeguard your information when you use our free tools at ddevtools.com.
Data Processing
Client-Side Processing
All tool operations are performed entirely in your browser. When you use our tools (JSON formatter, Base64 encoder, regex tester, etc.), your data never leaves your device. We do not transmit, store, or have access to any content you process through our tools.
No Server-Side Storage
We do not store any user-submitted content on our servers. Your code, text, and data remain exclusively on your device throughout the entire process.
Information We Collect
Analytics Data
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to improve our services:
- Pages visited and tools used
- Time spent on pages
- Browser type and device information
- Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
- Referral sources
This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
Error Tracking
We collect anonymous error data when tools encounter issues. This helps us improve reliability. Error logs contain only the error type and tool name - never your actual data.
Cookies and Advertising
We display advertisements through Google AdSense to support our free services. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we use Google's Consent Management Platform to obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies.
Cookies We Use
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users | 2 years |
| __gads, __gpi | Google AdSense | Ad personalization | 13 months |
| __eoi | Google AdSense | Ad interaction tracking | 6 months |
| FCCDCF, FCNEC | Google Funding Choices | Stores consent preferences | 13 months |
Essential cookies required for basic site functionality do not require consent.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics - Usage analytics
- Google AdSense - Advertising
- Google Tag Manager - Tag management
- Vercel - Hosting and deployment
Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they process data.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process data under the following legal bases:
- Consent - For advertising cookies and personalized ads (obtained via consent banner for EEA users)
- Legitimate Interest - For anonymous analytics to improve our services
Your Rights (EEA/UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the following rights under GDPR:
Right to Access
Request a copy of data we hold about you
Right to Rectification
Request correction of inaccurate data
Right to Erasure
Request deletion of your data
Right to Restrict
Request we limit how we use your data
Right to Portability
Receive your data in a portable format
Right to Object
Object to processing based on legitimate interest
Since our tools process data entirely in your browser and we don't store your tool inputs, most of these rights apply only to analytics and advertising data. To exercise these rights:
- For Google data: Visit Google Account Settings
- To opt out of ads: Visit Google Ads Settings
- To clear consent: Clear your browser cookies or use the consent banner settings
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Data Retention
We do not retain any tool input data - it exists only in your browser during your session. Analytics data is retained by Google according to their data retention policies (typically 14-26 months). You can request deletion of your Google Analytics data through your Google Account.
International Data Transfers
Our third-party services (Google, Vercel) may transfer data to servers outside your country of residence. These providers use Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards to protect data transferred internationally.
Data Security
Since we don't store your tool data, there is no risk of data breaches affecting your content. Our website is served over HTTPS to ensure secure connections.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to Know - Request disclosure of personal information collected about you
- Right to Delete - Request deletion of your personal information
- Right to Opt-Out - Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Right to Non-Discrimination - Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights
Since our tools process data client-side and we do not collect or store your tool inputs, these rights primarily apply to analytics and advertising data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@ddevtools.com or use the Google opt-out links above.
Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information. However, the use of advertising cookies may be considered a "sale" under CCPA. You can opt out by declining cookies in the consent banner or visiting Google Ads Settings.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
